Hello all!
I have news, not so much new news for most (all) of you! but i just thought that i needed to write out the story in full for those of you who don't know exactly what went down!

Well, first off, the news! I'M ENGAGED! to the most wonderful man on the planet infact! which is quite the feat indeed when you remember all of my past failures with relationships. All relationships...i suck at being a friend according to my history...dang...WELL! anyways. that's another story for another day! this is a day for a happy story! and an exciting one at that! This is an extended version of the fairytale beginning that i can call my own...

On Saturday, December 20th, I was woken up by my dad at 5:20ish in the AM. this was not quite the unusual event because I did have to get up for work. However, my dad woke me up saying that Mitchell had asked him to get me to watch something. The thoughts that went through my head were "what is he talking about? and how the heck did Mitch rope my dad into showing me something this early in the morning?!?" I was very tired and disoriented, but i went to the kitchen and saw that Mitch's laptop was set up on my kitchen table with Windows Media Player all set up for me to press play. Well, I did. The result was that a slideshow of pictures played with the song "Greatest story ever told" by Oliver James playing in the background. The slideshow was of pictures of Mitch and myself over the past couple of years of dating and getting to know eachother. it was very nice. After the slideshow was finished, up popped Mitch onto the screen! In the video, he told me that he had booked me off of work and that i needed to go and get ready to go out with him for 5:45AM. "What the heck is he talking about?" Well! it took a lot of convincing by my mom (who was also up, by this time i was getting so confused because it was very early and all i knew is that i was going to be late for work, and my whole family was up and about and that was just strange), but I got myself dressed and ready to go out with Mitch.

WELL! he showed up at my door, and he wouldn't tell me a thing except that we were going to go and "make some new memories". I didn't understand why we couldn't do this after i worked, or possibly on a day where i didn't have to get up so early in the morning. So we drove and drove, and we ended up at the airport. This was unusual, but not something to make me suspicious that early in the morning, we had gone to the airport just to hang out on the playstructure and go in the photobooth before. It started to get weirder when Jr. appeared and took my jacket and my purse away from me. my response to this was: "I live in Winnipeg, I need that jacket, and i'm a girl, i need my purse!" yet, i was not given my possessions back. I was then led to the main floor, where i was denied my morning coffee because of a long line. Mitch then steered me to the check-in station at the NorthWest area. and proceeded to check us in for a flight. "What the heck is going on?!?!?!" Turns out, we were heading to Florida. speachless, confused, &slightly suspicious

Well! We got on a plane. and we flew. I asked questions, and got very few, vague answers. So, i contented myself with playing word games and trying to sleep; but i am not impressed with flying, it is not my favourite way to travel. Anyways, we got to Minneapolis successfully, but our next flight was delayed. It was cutting it close, we still had another connection to make in Memphis. Needless to say, we didn't make it to Florida that night, we were stuck in Memphis. However, the lady who we were dealing with for our new flight plans took pity on us. She extended our trip by a day, letting us leave Orlando the day after we had planned to, and booked us on the earliest flight possible in the morning. Also! since we were stranded without a paddle, she gave us vouchers for dinner, hotel, AND breakfast, so basically we got a full bonus day for free in Memphis. Minus the cost of the Cirque Du Soliel tickets that Mitch had bought for that night. Sigh, oh well, maybe next time.:(

Well, we ate our free dinner, spent the entire evening and night sleeping after a long day of travelling, and then ate some delicious breakfast biscuits and headed back to the airport to catch our new flight. As we sat in the airport once again, i was reading the new boarding pass that i had received, and the airline had bumped us up to first class. It was fun to be important for two hours. haha, it meant that we got to get free coffee and snacks on the plane, and had the ultimate amount of leg room possible, i mean, i could fully extend my legs in front of me, it was great. And then, we arrived in Orlando, Florida!:):)

After an afternoon of swimming in our pool and laying in the sun, we decided to dress up and head over to Downtown Disney to buy some last minute Christmas presents, grab some supper, and entertain ourselves with the wonderment that is Disney. So we walked around, ate at the House of Blues, and had a lot of fun. It was a gorgeous evening. When we got back to the hotel, we had planned on watching Wall-E, which Mitch had rented and brought along on the trip, but lo and behold we didn't have a DVD player, so we rented the movie Igor from pay-per-view. It wasn't very good, only there was an immortal rabbit which had some pretty funny lines. At any rate, the movie put me to sleep a couple of times during, and by the time it was over I was pretty much out cold. However, Mitch moving around and getting himself set up to sleep on the pull-out couch woke me up again, and he got pretty hyped over the fact that i was awake. He told me that I had to get myself out of bed, get out of my pajamas and then go outside. I thought he was nutty. I was tired, and i did not want to go outside. Buuut, being the loving girl that i am i went along with his plan. Only, as i was trying to put my jeans on over a pair of tights, i just could not stop laughing. Nothing was funny, at all, but i was so tired that laughter was my first response to anything. Needless to say i fell on the floor and couldn't exactly dress myself like a normal person, but in the end i did it.

My next instructions were to go down to a gazebo which was on the hotel grounds and sit facing the water. I was to text Mitch when I got there, which i did. But he ended up turning the wrong way at some point, and i was getting antsy so i started to send him random texts. Then we walked up behind me and i fell off the bench i was sitting on because he startled me so much. When i turned to look at him from my new place on the ground, he was carrying a guitar. "a guitar? where the heck did he get a guitar? this is strange." Anyways, turns out that Mitch had mailed his guitar, which he first had to buy off of Krystle, to the hotel a few weeks previously to ensure that it would have arrived on time. For those of you who don't know, Mitch does not exactly know how to play the guitar, he's a bass player normally, but he learned to play my song on guitar for the specific purpose of proposing to me. He played Darling, and he sang to me, and he was gloriously nervous and it was adorable. And then at 11:07, my favourite time, he got down on one knee and he proposed to me. My head was filled with girly shrieking and screaming and "wow" 's. But obviously i said yes, and then he picked me up and spun me around and i freaked out some more.

I made several phone calls that night. they cost me $60, but in retrospect it was totally worth it.

The next day we went to DisneyWorld and it was amazing, we had too much fun. Except for when i got diarrea when we were in the middle of the line for thunder mountain. don't worry, i made it to the bathroom! haha, it was a horrible experience when i got there, but i felt better afterwards. But yes, DisneyWorld, fun, i can't even begin to explain all that we did there, there was just too much! so, you can look at the pictures on facebook! haha.

That night we ordered an extra large pizza, wings, and a 2litre of pop, and we feasted. it was great. we even had leftovers for breakfast in the morning as we packed up our things. For lunch we had huge milkshakes, and then, sadly, we were on our way home again.
